It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.

Learning is an ongoing experience. At least it should be. We've been taught that idea, we've been exposed to continuing education for years and with the internet, learning is a daily fact of life. After a combined eighty plus years of studying various methods of teaching, it became apparent that we (and most other researchers) didn't quite know how people learned.
That alarmed us.
Finally - a light went on when we discovered a series of experiments which had been conducted in the early 1960's which changed a primary concept in learning ... but not in teaching. And, there is a big difference.
Testing these concepts in small samples over a period of years, we feel confidant that the method will work in most (if not all) cases - if you apply it diligently.
